We had a winning weekend! Samantha’s soccer team played in a tournament and won, Alabama beat SC, and Vanderbilt beat Missouri! All my teams walked away with a W! Woohoo! In between all the winning we also had fun with friends!
Cheers to a spooky week ahead!
Robert went all out and got awesome tickets for the Bama TN game on Spencer’s birthday. No better place to celebrate 13 than in T-town cheering on the Tide! Before they left we had a birthday lunch and opened presents…
The boys then headed to Tuscaloosa with some friends that had gotten a driver – which was super nice because it was a night game and a very late return!
They got there way before kickoff so had lots of time to pre-game. I’m really glad Maxwell was there to force this birthday picture!!
They also made it to the President’s mansion…
and generally lived it up on campus…
even getting a ride and police escort to the stadium…
Thankfully the actual game lived up to the pre-game!! Amazing seats, a pick six, and a big Bama win!
Spencer said it was his favorite live sporting event he’s ever been to! Now THAT is a good 13th birthday! Roll Tide!
On Sunday we got up, grabbed Starbucks and headed to the Sphere! This was really the reason for our trip. Samantha just finished reading The Wizard of Oz and I thought that was as good a reason as any to head to see the movie at the Sphere!
It was so cool to see inside the Sphere and we had great seats in section 307!
The movie had been updated with AI to fit the screen and the effects were pretty incredible – from feeling like we were in the tornado to the apples falling from the sky – it was all very neat!
We then walked through the Wynn and saw some sites…
and even had another Oz photo op!
We then headed to the airport to catch our flight home! A quick and great trip! Viva Las Vegas!!
After walking in and out of the resorts on Saturday we made our way to the Museum of Illusions and it was a good stop! We all had fun checking out the various illusions and mind tricks!
That night we headed to the Mandalay Bay for dinner at Strip Steak and a few losing bets…
then to see Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil!
The show was good – not great, but good. A fun, full day in Las Vegas!
Vegas for fall break? Why not?! We flew down Friday night and checked into the Venetian for a weekend of “culture” and fun!
Saturday morning we got up and walked the strip a bit before the boys headed back to watch football. The girls kept going and ended up in the Bellagio to check out the beautiful flower displays…
and we waited in a long line for brunch at Sadelle’s…
it was worth it! After Alabama secured a victory over Missouri, we all headed back out…
and first stop was Maxwell’s request of the trip – In N Out!
Everyone gave the burgers a thumbs up! We then just walked around to check out the sights!
Some sights were more interesting than others! ha!
Robert and I met at the Stanton Social in New York 20 years ago!
The boys found the place where they wished they had watched the game!
Lots and lots of walking…
And then we ended up at a cool destination! More tomorrow!
