So, so thankful.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
on Saturday night I took Samantha and a friend to the Miss Olympian pageant. It’s a beauty/talent pageant at the high school that girls can enter. There is a talent portion, interview and evening gown competition! There ended up being a big crew of girls and moms and it really was such a fun night!
All of the contestants did an excellent job. There were a LOT of dancers plus three piano players – one of whom was an insanely talent classical pianist that did an amazing piece by Chopin! I can’t believe she didn’t win. My personal favorite was the girl that did a color guard routine with a flag and rifle! Amazing! The highlight of the night for me though was a 10th grade boy that sang after intermission doing a rendition of Billy Joel’s New York State of Mind. He wasn’t a contestant but I think they should have given him the crown! ha! It was such a fun night.
I do love a good girl’s night out with my favorite girl!
I got a photographer to come to the 9th grade game versus Briarwood. It turned out to be a really exciting game that even included a weather delay! But, the Spartans saw it through to a huge win. Maxwell played the whole game and had some awesome plays.
The best was this fantastic pass breakup. I hate that #11 is in the front of the shot because it was awesome!
Spartans were trailing at the end of the 4th and had a chance to score on 3rd down but didn’t make it. There was 1 second left on the clock and the QB threw for a TD and we scored! SO exciting! Our awesome kicker then kicked a field goal to win the game! Talk about exciting!
Really proud of this whole team on a fantastic season!
Go Spartans Go!
Maxwell had another great season of Spartan football! The 9th grade team started in the summer with hot practices and then started going before school every day. It was a long season of very early morning wake up calls for 6am practices at the high school. They then stayed and had strength for first period and then took a bus to the junior high. Everyone was tired but it was worth it.
The season started with Spartan Day…
The boys also got breakfast at school on game days…
Their team had an awesome season overall! Maxwell started the season strong as the starting cornerback.
About halfway through the season, the coach switched things up and started another kid each week. We really couldn’t figure out why as Maxwell had been playing great and rarely let anyone get by him. But, that’s football and I was proud of how Maxwell handled the disappointment.

The final game of the season was super exciting! Spartans were down by 21 at halftime and came back to win the game in double overtime! What an incredible way to end the season! GSG!
I did get a photographer to come to one of the games so will share those tomorrow. It was a good season for #29 with some frustrations, plenty of playtime, and a whole lot of hardwork. I am so proud of my cornerback!
Go Spartans and go Maxwell!
We had a great weekend start to finish! Robert and I went out on the town Friday night to a casino party at the club. The company was awesome and I think Robert won big at the craps table!
On Saturday Spencer watched the game with friends while Maxwell and Robert got to go to Tuscaloosa for the game. While the tide didn’t roll the way we wanted, it was a beautiful day for some tailgating and football…
I stayed home and hung with these cute girls and got them up to church on Sunday to start practicing for the Christmas pageant!
Fun all around!
