Home for the holidays

December 12, 2011

We had SUCH a great weekend that included a big trip to see Santa and Mickey.  Yep, we went to Disney World for only 24 hours…totally crazy but so worth it!  Maxwell looked like this by the end of our whirlwind trip…

My pooped little buddy!  Lots of details to come this week.

Today I thought I’d share a few of our Christmas decorations.  If you don’t know, I LOVE Christmas.  I love everything about it – Christmas cards (it could not be more fun to get the mail everyday during the holidays), Christmas music (Kenny & Dolly is a personal sentimental fave), Christmas parties (fudge and cookies? yes, please!) and, most of all, Christmas decorations (the more sparkle and glitter the better!).  I’m not sure Robert knew what he was getting into during our first Christmas together!  🙂

I like the house to look festive.  It just makes the whole season seem more merry, you know?  My front living room and dining room are full of the aforementioned glitter…

The den doesn’t have the sparkle, but it’s got the Santa!

I kind of have a thing for Santas…I got it from my parents.  Santas are all over the house.

My Santas are jolly…

and cheerful…

and puffy…

and even filled with cookies.

And, you can’t have Santa without one of his reindeer.  Duh.

Is it Blitzen?  Donner?  I’m still not sure…he doesn’t talk much.

The outside of our house looks just as festive as the inside thanks to Susan and her incredible bow-making ability!

I’ll say it again, I LOVE Christmas!

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments

Road trip intermission

September 14, 2011

Taking a short, one day intermission in the road trip photos because yesterday did not go as planned and I didn’t get done what I needed to get done. Frustrating.

What didn’t go as planned you ask? Well, let me tell you. A few weeks ago, Robert and I decided to make the switch from Charter to AT&T UVerse…a switch I’m very excited about given our history with Charter. Yesterday was our installation day and the AT&T guy showed up at 9:30 am yesterday to set up new phone, cable and internet.  They said the process would take about 4 hours.  Yea, that didn’t happen.  My friendly AT&T tech, Corey, finally left my house at 7:45 pm.  My 4 hour installation took 10 hours and 15 minutes. Are you kidding me? The good news is that everything is up and running now. I love having 3 DVR’s and the ability to watch my recorded shows on any tv. Hooray!

In other news, Maxwell is making major progress on walking. Yesterday I watched him go from a seated position to standing and then take about 6 steps in a row!  Whoa!  Go Maxwell Go!

I promise better pics tomorrow but today, this is what I got…

Early morning swinging…

Graham crackers at lunch…

and Maxwell’s newest favorite spot in the kitchen…

Yes, he gets in there all by himself and I can’t keep him out. We’ll be putting a child lock on that drawer this weekend!  🙂

See you tomorrow!

Lawn boy

August 25, 2011

There are a few things that can truly capture Maxwell’s attention – Baby Noah, Sesame Street, his Truck Book. On Monday I discovered one more thing that mesmerized him…

What could it be?

Dad mowing the lawn. The best entertainment a 1 year old little boy could ask for!

He could have sat there all night.

He was probably dreaming of the day that he can get out there and help Dad…

I know that’s what Dad was thinking!

Weekend roundup

July 18, 2011

We had a great, restful weekend around here.  Big events included a trip to Sam’s, yardwork (for Robert, not me), and going to bed at 9:00.  The excitement is overwhelming I know. Maxwell did take this opportunity to show us who’s boss when it comes to taking a bottle.  Geez Louise.  I didn’t know how good I had it not having to give this kid a bottle before.  He definitely won’t drink it until he’s ready and, even then, it’s sipping in between his busy play schedule.  Getting 21 oz. of formula in him a day might do me in…

Speaking of formula, we did discover a new aisle at Sam’s on Saturday…

Gotta love buying in bulk!

I did pull my camera out this weekend.  I had missed it last week.  Here’s Maxwell exploring every inch of the house…I think he’s going a little stir crazy too!

Hope you all had a great, restful weekend too!

Goldfish

May 17, 2011

We had playgroup at our house last week.  It was a beautiful day outside and everyone was enjoying playing in the yard…until the sprinklers came on!  oops!  Luckily I was able to get them turned off pretty quickly and we didn’t get too wet.  All of the water did make it nice for the goldfish though…that’s goldfish of the Pepperidge Farm variety!  ha ha ha!  You didn’t know I was so funny, did you?  🙂

Put out a bowl of goldfish in the middle of 8 kids under the age of 3 and those little things go FAST and get EVERYWHERE!!  Many of them ended up right by Maxwell and, even though he doesn’t have teeth yet, I think he enjoyed getting his first taste of the cheesy little fish…

I don’t think he ever actually ate one…just licked them and crushed them in his hands!  He had fun with them though!

Some other cute pics from the afternoon…

A fun (and slightly wet!) play day!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments
