Halloween – the main event!

After all the fun Halloween lead in, Halloween itself finally arrived…on a Monday! Not the best but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. It was unseasonably warm but at least it wasn’t raining like last year. Spencer and Samantha wore their Ghostbuster shirts to school to keep away all spooky things…

and Spencer’s teacher even had the same idea!

After school and naps, we headed over to the Crestline parade just in time to see some fun floats and collect some candy.

We then went to our neighborhood party where everyone enjoyed the train, bouncies and food.

We finally headed out to go trick-or-treating at about 6:45 or so…it was getting very dark and we did a big loop before our crew was worn out.

We got home to examine the loot…

and then all fell into bed exhausted! It was a great Halloween for my Kylo Ren, Darth Vander, and Little Miss Sunshine!!

Halloween round 3

On Sunday we went to our church’s Fall Festival. Despite being unseasonably warm and not fall-like at all, we still had a great time. They made some fun improvements to it this year that made it a lot more enjoyable than last year! (fall festival 2014 here)

I wasn’t so sure how it was going to go since I had to wake Samantha up from her nap and then both boys fell asleep on the way out there!

But, once we got there everyone perked up and had a great time!

and dinner and music and lots of fun!

Unfortunately, no s’mores this year due to the drought and burn ban. Didn’t bother my kids though – they were happy with cookies! Now if we could just get some fall weather for our fall festival!

Halloween Round 2

On Thursday of last week, my costumed crew went to trick-or-treat at Kirkwood by the River, a retirement community. Our church organizes a group every year and it turned out to be so great. The kids got TONS of candy and seeing the looks on the faces of the people that live there was PRICELESS. Little Miss Rainbow Sunshine was a HIT!

We saw some friends…

and then walked up and down all the halls trick-or-treating with the residents!

Samantha got the hang of “trick treat!” right away and walked right up to everyone to snag her piece of candy! I mean…just look at the faces on these ladies watching her…

They couldn’t get enough of her!

We sat down after to eat a little bit of the candy and Baby couldn’t wait to “taste the rainbow!” 🙂

Halloween fun round 1

The Halloween fun began last week when we gave our costumes a test run at the MBE Boo Bash! It was a little carnival at the school and, while there was not a ton of stuff to actually do, that didn’t seem to bother the kids. They had fun getting dressed up for sure…I present Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, and Little Miss Sunshine!!
