Friday Favorite

January 21, 2011

Today’s Friday Favorite is our new toy chest!  Even though Maxwell is only 4 months old we’re already amassing quite a collection of brightly colored plastic toys.  He’s got plenty of storage in his room, but we needed a place to keep a bunch of them in the den where he usually plays.  I found this great toy chest at Pottery Barn Kids.  It blends right in with our furniture so you really don’t even notice it.  I also like that it doesn’t have a lid – no little fingers will be smashed and hopefully no lid will encourage Maxwell to put away  his toys someday!  I can dream, right?!

Maxwell likes how it keeps all of his toys contained…toys like the keys to his boat, plane and car!

Don’t tell him he can’t drive yet!  🙂

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  Thanks to our awesome nanny, Robert and I are going out to brunch to celebrate 3 years of wedded bliss!!  Can’t wait!

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments

All of the drool coming out of Maxwell’s mouth combined with the cold, dry winter air makes for some chapped little cheeks and a raw chin.  I do my best to keep it dry but when he’s constantly sucking on his hands, it’s impossible.  I find that this stuff helps a ton:

Boudreaux Baby Kisses

I rub it on his little cheeks and chin whenever it looks red.  Gotta keep these chubby cheeks kissable!!

Have a happy weekend!

First, guess who flipped from  his back to his tummy last night in his crib?!  My little acrobat!

Now, on with the show…Today’s Friday Favorite are the long sleeve Old Navy onesies. They’re thick and soft! I love the kind with 2 snaps up at the shoulder because they make it easy to get over Maxwell’s head. They come in lots of cute stripe patterns that totally remind me of clothes Robert wore when he was little…like this one:

The best part? they’re cheap. They almost always have some on sale. I just ordered this one on sale for $2.99. Cute, huh?

Rosy, chapped cheeks from the cold…

I think this picture is cool. It’s like a foggy haze on a pirate ship…

AARGH! Have a great weekend!

Today’s Friday Favorite was given to me by my best friends at my shower.  They clearly know the best baby gear because this thing is great!  It’s a collapsible storage bin by Scout.  It is perfect for hauling all of Maxwell’s stuff when we travel in the car and then can be folded up completely flat when we’re not using it.  I’m sure someday it will make a fantastic toy box too!

Check them out here: Scout by Bungalow

I have the “Junque Trunk” in the blue color:

and here it is folded down flat:

I can’t think of an easier way to pack of all Maxwell’s stuff.  Our bin has been to Arkansas, Texas and all over Alabama already!  You might remember this photo from one of our trips:

We love our Scout Bin!

I’m not going to lie, it’s been a rough week at our house.  Maxwell’s reflux is back with a vengeance and there has been a lot of crying, a lot of fussing and very little sleep.  We’ve increased his Zantac dosage to keep up with his weight so let’s all just hope it makes a difference.  My sweet boy needs some relief!  Needless to say, I am beyond ready for the weekend to have Robert home all day to help out!  While we’re all hanging out at home, I think we might…

Dance to some Christmas tunes…

sing some Christmas carols…

and eat some Christmas goodies!!  🙂

See you Monday!

First, guess who rolled over yesterday?! 3 times!!  We even caught it on video and if I can ever figure out how to put a video up here I’ll show you all!  Our little guy is growing up!!

Today’s Friday Favorite is my iPhone.  My i don’t know what i would do without it iPhone.  When I’m rocking Maxwell to sleep at night or trapped while holding him for a long nap (he’s not so good at napping in the crib yet) I love that I can use my iPhone to check my email, read my gossip websites (love you Perez), and play games all with one hand.  Even more, I love that I can take pictures and videos of Maxwell whenever he does something cute and email them to Robert immediately.  Those Apple folks really know what they’re doing.

My latest favorite iPhone app?  Words with Friends.  Obsessed.  Do you play?  If so, leave your username in the comments.  I’d love to play a game with you!  I’m sjpbrown.

Some recent funny pictures taken with my iPhone…

ps – I promise I’ll get back to the baby gear next Friday!

Have a great weekend!  We’re planning to get a Christmas tree!  Ho Ho Ho!
