Oh Friday, welcome.  I think I’m getting SAD due to daylight savings time.  It’s practically dark when the boys wake up from their nap and I get off work. I’m ready to spring forward already.  Plus, I think Spencer must be cutting teeth because he’s had some VERY fussy afternoons.  Wah-wah, huh?  Are you sick of hearing me complain?  me too.  Moving on…

1. I sent Spencer back to school this week after keeping him out for over a month with HFM, ear infection and just my general desire to have him home with me. 🙂 He’s done great and I think loves the interaction with other kids. But, man, does he ever come home dirty and tired!

2. Due to the early darkness, we’ve been spending time inside playing with toys…

Maxwell loves to build planes and trucks with those Bristle Blocks and Spencer loves to eat them.  (thanks Jenny, Ronnie, Katie and Anna!)

3. We’ve gotten into some of these new Leapfrog DVDs that are great. (thanks GJ!) I think Maxwell’s going to be reading in no time!

5. We had a “Moe-mentous” day here yesterday! Spencer got his first Moe’s taco just like big brother!  If you’re a regular reader, you know Moe’s is a weekly occurrence and basically Maxwell’s favorite restaurant ever. I think Spencey liked his just as much as Maxwell did!  yay!

Well, that was about the most boring post yet. I’m going to try to get my real camera out this weekend and do better next week!  See you then!

This weekend was jam-packed with all sorts of fun!  Robert was out of town in Boston with some friends to see a concert so it was just me and the boys and…man, we went all out!  It was a gorgeous, fall weekend with cold mornings and sunny afternoons.  Perfect for plenty of outside play!

Since this was the last weekend the pumpkin patches were open, I decided to brave it alone Saturday morning and piled the boys into the car bright and early to get to the Great Pumpkin Patch in Hayden by 8:30am.  We went last year right before Spencer was born and I knew Maxwell would enjoy it again.  He bounced in the bounce houses, rode the little train, checked out the animals and sat on all types of neat tractors.

We then took a hayride out to where all the pumpkins are and I told Maxwell to pick any one he wanted!

I think he got the best one out there!

Spencer’s favorite part was definitely rolling around in all the hay!

It was an effort to get us all up and out there so early but I’m glad we did!

We went early because I needed to get Spencer home to take a nap before our next adventure at 2:00.  Spencer had other plans.  He looked like this about 5 minutes into our drive home from the pumpkin patch…

Sweet baby.  I took the long way home and he got about a 45 minute nap in the car…and that’s the only nap he got all day because we had to get to a fire truck party!  Before we left, I had to put both boys in their new fire truck shirts, of course…

(and please note that Saturday was Spencey’s first time in real shoes!  a hand me down pair of his brother’s beloved Elmo shoes!)

Maxwell’s friend, Luke, was turning 3 and had a party at a fire station – not the one where we had Maxwell’s party but a different one.  Maxwell obviously loved it…

and the firemen were very informative!  Probably a bit more informative than the 3 year old audience cared for but that’s ok!  🙂

After they climbed all over the trucks they got to play at the park next door and eat some cake…which Maxwell clearly enjoyed!

Spencer was so good for the whole party despite the short nap.  In fact, he was even this happy that night in the bath…

He is just the best!

It was an early bedtime for two very tired and happy boys!  Yay for fun fall weekends!

You know, with sickness and work and everything else, some days you just feel like this…

But, Friday makes everything better!! We’re excited for a fall weekend.  Maybe get a few pumpkins and some mums…play a little soccer…enjoy the pretty weather.  Ah, yes, weekends are good.  If you need a little something to make you smile as we head into the glorious weekend, here you go…
