NOLA

May 29, 2015

Two weekends ago, Robert, Samantha and I traveled down to New Orleans for the wedding of Robert’s friend, Lem. It took a lot of coordination to get us out of town but I’m so glad we made the trip. The boys got to go have a fun weekend in Montgomery with Lulu, Granddaddy, Jenny, Ronnie and, of course, Katie and Anna! It was their first time to stay away from home without us and they did great. On Friday, Robert and I dropped Maxwell off at school and then hit the road to Nola. Spencer stayed with Susan who then picked Maxwell up from school. Lulu and Ronnie then drove up to get the boys and take them to Montgomery for the weekend. See, lots of coordinating going on! πŸ™‚

When we got to Nola, we had the very best babysitter in the world waiting there to keep Samantha in the hotel all weekend…

GJ

GJ’s the best.

Robert and I had fun at the party on Friday night…

and then had more fun exploring Nola and being tourists on Saturday morning! Beignets = yum.

Also, babies in hats = adorable.

I hadn’t been to Nola in years and, while it’s a fun city, it’s pretty dirty and just not really my scene. It was also crazy humid all weekend. Apparently, it was also exhausting…

nola

Completely exhausting..

Still, we loved getting to see good friends and explore the city a bit.

Meanwhile, back in Montgomery… the boys weren’t missing us one bit! They were having too much fun eating at Moe’s, camping out in sleeping bags, and going to the zoo!

A HUGE thank you to all the Mgm Browns for making the boys’ weekend SO fun!!

In Nola, Robert and I got all dolled up to go the wedding on Saturday night…

where we had a great time and loved getting to celebrate Lem and Evie!

We even made it to the after party where some people danced on top of a pool table!

But, I don’t know much about that. πŸ˜‰ Sunday morning came way too early and we hit the road. Robert and I were both wishing we could have been doing this on the drive…

But, we made it to Montgomery and were so happy to get the boys and all be back together again!

mgm

It was a super fun weekend that would not have been possible without the help of our awesome families! Thank you again!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

Weekend recap

May 26, 2015

We had a great long weekend around here. We had no plans but we did have some visitors! And everyone got to love on Baby Mantha!

visitors

Things are just more fun when GJ and crew are around!

gj

Especially when she takes you places like this!

toys

We walked out of Toys R Us with a few treasures for all, including this archery set for Maxwell.

archery

He had it mastered by the end of the day!

We also got a new trike for Spencer…

and a scooter for Maxwell!

scooter

We got a 2 wheel scooter as opposed to a 3 wheel one and, while it’s challenging for him, I think it will be good for him and I have no doubt he’ll be zipping around the neighborhood by the end of the summer!

We got Samantha a swing for outside that we need to get hung. But, we also pulled this out of the attic for her to play in!

The rest of the weekend was spent playing outside…

Mr. Maxwell

May 5, 2015

Maxwell is the best. The best. He’s such a little grown up in a kid’s body. I love to hear the things he says…One day he wanted to know something about a specific big cat and I didn’t have the answer so he told me just to go to bigcat.com and look it up! ha! He’s always telling me to “just order it off Amazon, Momma!” A few weeks ago he started telling me how to do a flower rubbing picture and I asked him where he learned that and he said from tv and then followed up with “Momma, even tv can teach you things!” So true, buddy, so true. His vocabulary is crazy. In the yard last week he asked me if something was still “viable” or not. That’s my smart boy!

Other Maxwell things lately…

Last week he got to go to a Barons baseball game with Robert…

baseball

Robert said he had a blast and was very entertained – and being very entertaining too!

barons

I asked him that night what his favorite part of the game was and he said, “The race between the hot dog and the taco!” ha!

Maxwell also got some new shoes. His other orange and grey tennis shoes were tie and he said that Mrs. Kathy “hated” that she always had to re-tie his shoes at school so we got him some more velcro ones…

new shoes

Looking sharp in his new shoes and the tshirt he got at the Barons game!

Finally, Maxwell got to take a trip to Toys R Us with Robert to spend his hard earned allowance money! After checking out all the aisles, he finally decided on this tiger rescue set-up….

allowance toy

He had $25 and it cost $29 so Robert told him he’d give him an advance on his allowance by 1 week so he could buy it! πŸ™‚ He took his wallet to the store and paid with his own money and everything. Cutest. thing. ever. I’m so proud of him! My sweet boy even shared the toy with Spencer when he got home…

As my mom said, “He’s a special little boy.” Yes, he is indeed.

mbb and skb

I sure do love him.

Would love to hear from you! 7 Comments
