Their turn!

August 31, 2016

On Monday it was finally Spencer and Samantha’s turn to go to school! Spencer was ready, he had an ice cream date with his new class a few weeks ago so had met a few of the friends that will be in his class…

Well, I say he was ready but he sure wasn’t ready for photos that morning! Don’t they both look so excited?

school

Ha! Spencer finally perked up a little when I told him about his new green camo lunch box I got him for school!

Samantha didn’t know what was about to hit her but, gosh darn it, she looked cute in this little apple dress!

and her matching bloomers!  🙂

I could just eat her up.

Ta da!

When we got to school Spencer walked right on into Mrs. Rollins’ class, showed her his new lunch box, and took off playing not even saying bye to me! Good for him! I then walked Samantha over to her room to meet her new teacher Mrs. Laura. She was clinging pretty tight to me for a while.

I finally managed to get her off of me and was trying to get her interested in the toys…

then Mrs. Laura tried to make friends…

But, nope. Little Miss Skeptical was having none of it! ha!

first day

Tootie. She finally found an Elmo doll that distracted her just enough for me to slip out. I think there were plenty of tears once she realized I was gone but Mrs. Laura assured me she didn’t cry for too long. Both she and Spencer sure were happy to see me at 1:00! I think they both had a GREAT first day!

Now let’s see what happens Wednesday when we go back and Samantha knows what’s about to happen! eek!

School Shoes

August 25, 2016

New school year = new school shoes! I originally ordered Spencer a pair of Nike Air Max for an upcoming surprise trip (shhh!) because they have a thick sole and I thought they would give him an extra inch or two he needed to ride some rides…

spencer shoes

They did! and he loves them! He feels pretty cool with his new “tie shoes”.

I liked them so much on Spencer that I ordered Maxwell some Nike Air Max of his own…

mbb shoes

he really loves them!

nike air max

I don’t like how they make him look like a teenager all of a sudden but…that’s life.

I also got them each a pair of blue Sauconys just like the red ones they’ve had the past few years.

shoes

Can’t go wrong with those.

Samantha’s a totally different story! Girls shoes are more fun – and more challenging! My sweet girl can’t just have two pair of tennis shoes and that’s it now, can she? Only problem is her chubby foot won’t fit in a lot of the shoes I tried on her! But, we ended up with some winners…

We kept the See Kai Run tennis shoes on her right foot…

shoes

the pink Livie and Luca mary janes on her right foot…

shoes

and then found these Cientas that are great (even if they do come with a fruity scent that I could do without! yes, the shoes smell fruity!)

shoes

Everyone’s feet are ready for school! Spencer and Samantha start Monday – off to new adventures!

Would love to hear from you! 1 Comment

First Day!

August 12, 2016

Well, the first day of kindergarten for my first baby has come and gone…and it went great! Maxwell was so ready and excited…

first day of kindergarten

and I was too!  🙂

first day of kindergarten

Spencer, on the other hand, was not ready nor was he excited…

He really, really didn’t want big brother to go!  🙁  Spencer apparently threw a fit of epic proportions after Maxwell and I walked over to school…poor buddy. It’s hard to see your best friend leave for 7 hours a day. All I can say is “bless his heart”…he will adjust and it will all be ok.

Maxwell and I got to school and found some friends…

first day of kindergarten

and headed down to the cafeteria to wait with his class…

until it was time for him to go to his room with Mrs. Solai! Off to new adventures!

The kindergarteners get out an hour early for the first 5 days so I was ready and waiting at 2:00 to see my buddy!

He said he had a good day (even if they didn’t get to play on the “brand new but still not finished” playground!).

Everyone sure was glad to have him back home that afternoon!  🙂

Here’s to a fun year of school ahead!

Church

July 27, 2016

This past Sunday we actually all 5 made it to church for the first time in forever!

My crew looking sharp. Spencer was pouting because he didn’t have pockets.

Then the bunny ears started…

And then I got a somewhat smiling at least all looking in the same direction picture!

This was the first time I’ve taken Samantha to the nursery at church since Maxwell’s graduation.

She was all excited running into church…

But quickly started crying as soon as I left her in the nursery. 🙁  She was happy when I picked her up though and the ladies said it didn’t take her too long to stop crying. Phew! She better get ready because she starts school 2 days a week in just about a month!

Here fishy fishy

June 2, 2016

On Sunday morning, we all got up and were at the Georgia Aquarium by 9am! I’m so glad we got there right when it opened because it wasn’t too crowded yet and we were able to see the whale sharks and penguins without too big of a crowd around us…

We then went to see the Sea Lion show and the Dolphin show. Both were great – but we had to wait way too long for them! We got in line for the Sea Lion show at 10:00 and it started at 10:30. When that was over, we went straight to the Dolphin show and were in our seats by 10:50 but the show didn’t start until 11:30! It was THAT crowded that we had to go super early – but trying to entertain/wrangle Samantha in a seat for that long was not exactly fun. After the show, we made one last stop to see the jelly fish and the eels and then we hit the road back to Birmingham.

Overall it was a great trip. I’m not dying to go back to the aquarium anytime soon but I’m glad we went. Mostly, I’m so glad this crew got to hang out!

A fun weekend in Atlanta!
