First, a crawling update.  Since Maxwell started crawling 2 weeks ago, he has quickly progressed from tentative mover to big time mover and shaker!  His form is a bit questionable – on the belly, one elbow, one hand, one knee as a rudder with the other leg dragging behind – but he can get from one side of the room to the other in no time flat!  He’s quickly showing me where I need to baby proof and what cabinets need to be cleared out!  Just yesterday he started to move a little up on all fours.  Watch out world!

Second, As I think I’ve mentioned before, my mom has a great group on friends down in Florida and they all do these fantastic dance aerobics classes on the beach.  I always try and go with my mom while I’m down there and, let me tell you, it’s a workout…especially in the heat and humidity!  When we were down there two weeks ago, Robert walked to the beach with us so everyone could see Mr. Maxwell.

One of my mom’s friends also brought her granddaughter down that day.  Sophie is only 3 days younger than Maxwell and he had the best time checking her out!

Luckily Robert intervened before we got into real trouble!

Maybe Maxwell and Sophie can grow up to be beach buddies!

These two cuties had quite the crowd watching them…Maxwell was eating up all the attention!

I think we’re going to have our hands full with this little ladies man!  🙂  It was a great day and, as we left, Maxwell waved goodbye to his adoring fans!

Fun times!

It’s was an interesting weekend…  Maxwell was his normal happy, smiley, giggly self on Friday afternoon and then at 6:00 the switch flipped!  He was inconsolable, had a low grade fever and didn’t even want to eat.  Not good!  We got him to bed and he slept very fitfully all night.  Saturday morning he was pretty listless and wouldn’t let me put him down for one second.  He also had zero appetite all day – I couldn’t even get him to eat his favorite applesauce!  He perked up a little in the afternoon so we were able to take him to his friend’s first birthday party but he just wasn’t himself.  Lulu and Granddad came up Saturday afternoon because Robert and I had a wedding to go to that night.  He seemed to be doing a bit better so went left him in the capable hands of his grandparents and went and had a great time at the wedding.  Maxwell did fine and thankfully slept pretty well Saturday night.  After a rough day on Saturday, he slowly got back to his normal smiley self on Sunday after a solid 2 hour morning nap.  We’re thinking maybe it’s just some teeth coming through?  I don’t know what it is but I hate seeing my little buddy so pitiful.

More pool pics!  We got back into the pool on Monday before we left to go home and Maxwell thought it was about the greatest thing ever…

 

The best part about the pool?  After pool hair!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

First, let me tell you all what Maxwell did yesterday.  We laid him in his crib for his afternoon nap and he managed to pull up on the side and not only get himself to a sitting position but then he pulled himself up to his knees and then all the way up to his feet!!  As soon as Robert got home from work, we went in there and lowered that crib!  He has also perfected a one arm army crawl and is on the move!  Things are changing at the Brown house!

On with the post, along with swimming in the pool, we also took Maxwell down to the beach for the first time while in Florida last week.  We only went once early in the morning just because it was so hot.  Maxwell loved checking out the ocean but wasn’t quite so sure about the waves at first.  He warmed up to it then and had fun playing in, and eating, the sand.  Can’t wait for him to get bigger and enjoy the beach even more!  Lots of pictures….

I think Maxwell is going to be a big fan of the beach!

In Florida last weekend we took Maxwell swimming for the first time.  He wasn’t quite so sure about it at first but was a big fan by the end of the weekend.  Here’s some pics from his first dip in the pool!
