Celebrating Maxwell
For Maxwell’s birthday party, he wanted to have a kind of “yes” day…similar to Samantha’s day of fun. I think we accomplished it! His friends all got to our house at noon where we had Shake Shack waiting for lunch.
They watched a little bit of AL football and then we headed to the trampoline park…
They had a blast at Defy and, thankfully, the Tide pulled out a W over Texas while they jumped. We made a quick pit stop for drinks and then it was over to High Point Climbing for some indoor climbing fun.
Next? Dinner at Tecate of course. There was no other option in Maxwell’s mind!!
We then headed to Marble Slab for some ice cream…
and ended the night with a sleepover! Whew.
It was such a fun day and a great group of boys celebrating my favorite 12 year old!!

Celebrating!
We had quite the celebration for Maxwell on Tuesday! It started with his traditional birthday breakfast…
12! Too bad he didn’t eat a single one and opted for his protein shake instead. ha! Oh well. I was happy to make them for him like he requested.
He got to open one present before school and got this FlipStik – a Shark Tank product! It was pretty cool!
He then went to school and tried to show it to his friend by sticking it on a metal street sign and couldn’t get it off and it broke. Oh well. Don’t worry, I had another one for him by the time school got out! Football ended up getting cancelled because of the weather but that worked out because then we all got to eat dinner together – Shake Shack and Baby Bites! Excellent dinner choice by the birthday boy!
He then had Boy Scouts so we opened presents after…
and then I even got talked into helping him put up one present all over his room! (panoramic pic by Maxwell!)
I have to admit these LED lights look really cool! I sure to love celebrating my favorite 12 year old!!

and now 12!!
Maxwell is growing up so fast and I feel like we’ve seen so many changes this past year – no more little kid. Despite the teenager attitude I might get from him some days (!), he’s still just a good, good kid. He does well in school, he’s polite, he’s helpful and, mostly, he does the right thing and makes smart decisions. I’m so so proud of him.
He’s really loving having a phone and the independence that has come with it. He and his friends love to go into the village and roam around and buy candy at the Chevron. He has a really good group of buddies and he’s a very loyal friend, especially to Jack! He’s still a good athlete playing the sport of the season – tennis, football, basketball, golf, baseball – he does them all! Boy Scouts is a big deal now too and taking up a lot of his time. He’s trying to make it to Eagle someday and I’ll bet he does it.
