We made it up to the club on Sunday night to see some friends…
take lots of pictures…
and put in our requests to Santa!
Hope we make the nice list!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
Robert and I headed up to the club for his dogfight’s Christmas party. There were jokes – some appropriate, some not – karaoke, and plenty of good cheer!
Maxwell and his friends went to a concert at Iron City which was fun for them. We then all suffered through the SEC Championship Saturday afternoon. Roll Tide anyway. Four of us salvaged the night with dinner at Chez Fon Fon! (don’t worry, Maxwell was with friends and we brought him a burger home!)
Make it a great day!
Thinking of my dad a little more (if that’s even possible) this weekend on his 75th birthday. I wish I could tell him all about Maxwell’s deer. He wasn’t a deer hunter but he would occasionally hunt birds and I know he would have been impressed with my sharp shooter! I wish I could be discussing Maxwell’s upcoming Eagle project with him. It is so up his alley and, man, how do I wish he was here to help Maxwell build it. I wish I could tell him how well Spencer has handled the junior high this year. I would tell him how proud of I am of him for having the best football season ever but how I’m even more proud of how he handled the disappointment of basketball tryouts and I know he’d agree. I wish he could just see Samantha and how magical she is and see how much I delight in having a little girl. He knew how much I reeeeeally wanted a girl. Especially a girly girl like her who is also uber competitive like me. I wish I could tell him about how all three definitely use their best judgment…most of the time. I wish he could be with GJ on her all of her travel adventures and daily steps and determination to thrive even when life is hard. I wish I could tell him Happy Birthday and give him a big hug.
I wish I could tell him all these things but I also think he already knows.
Happy Birthday Daddy. We love you and we miss you. Now I’m going to go listen to some Andy Williams in your honor because it is “the most wonderful time of the year!”
The boys stayed in Montgomery until Friday because Ronnie hooked them all up with an awesome opportunity to deer hunt at Wyncreek. These boys are living right getting to hunt this way!
Maxwell was in a house/hut/pod (?) with Robert while Spencer was in one with Ronnie.
They sat there all afternoon and Maxwell and Robert were watching a big buck. Around sundown they decided to go for it. I think before Robert could barely say “take your shot”, Maxwell pulled the trigger! I then got a text from him “Just shot a big deer, a biggg deer, we looked and there was lots of blood we’re boutta go look for it”! About two hours later, these were the pics I got!
The place they were hunting was as nice as it gets and they had good help getting the deer back and all cleaned up!
Needless to say, Maxwell was very excited! Huge thanks to Uncle Ronnie for providing this awesome opportunity. What a memory!
Will that deer end up on the wall?? hmmmmm.
