Doc update

December 21, 2012

As I mentioned earlier, Spencer had his 2 month doctor appointment today.  So….what’s your best guess of this little chubbo’s weight?

Well, he’s 13 lbs, 8 oz (90-95th%)!!!  whoa!  Total chubbo and I love every single roll!!  For comparison, Maxwell was only 11 lbs, 5 oz at his 2 month checkup.  Goodness!

He’s 23 inches tall (75-85th %) and has a head circumference of 15 and 1/4 inches (50th-75th %).  He had to get several shots which is no fun but we made it.  Thankful for good doctor reports!

ps – Today Maxwell is wearing the reindeer sweatshirt he made at school…

I’d say his two handprints and one footprint make a cute reindeer!

Happy weekend!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

Things of interest

December 21, 2012

Another Friday and another list of things of interest…

1. Spencer has his 2 month doctor check-up today.  I’ll post an update with his stats later today.

2. If you’re a regular reader, you know Maxwell has a love of all things firefighter, especially firefighter hats!  He loves them so much, he’ll even wear two!

He’s going to make sure his brother loves them too!  🙂

3. Maxwell has been wearing Christmas shirts pretty much every day the past two weeks.  Gotta get good use out of them before the season is over!

3. I was drinking coffee the other day (actually a chai latte and I never really drink straight coffee so not sure where Maxwell learned the word?) but Maxwell informed me that he has coffee at school in his “coffee cup”!  I asked him if his teacher drinks coffee and he said, “no, me!”  hmmmm…..

4. Both boys had on their Christmas pj’s yesterday morning so here’s a little preview of Christmas morning!

adorable.

5. I went to a cookie exchange party this week and made these Soft, Chewy Ginger cookies and they were really good!  My favorites that someone else brought were these Cornmeal Lime cookies.  (her recipe was a little different but this Giada recipe is close).  Sounds strange but so good!  like a margarita in a cookie!

That’s all for today!  As long as the rain holds off we have a fun weekend planned – a trip to Zoolight Safari!  See you later!

The Jolly one

December 20, 2012

Continuing with our weekend recap, on Saturday evening, after all of our family visitors were gone, we went over to the house of some friends to see Santa again!  I dressed the boys in matching shirts and tried to get a picture of them before we left…

Yea, that didn’t go so well.

At the party “Santa Wayne” was super jolly but Maxwell still really didn’t want anything to do with him.  We took our time and just watched Santa for a while before we got near him and that seemed to help a bit.  Maxwell did finally agree to go close to him as long as I held him and he did tell Santa that he wanted both a fire truck AND a train track this time!  Glad we got that done!

Santa even had a gift for both Maxwell and Spencer.  so nice!  Spencer got a piggy bank and Maxwell got a John Deere camera.

He was running around like the paparazzi all night snapping everyone’s picture!

He was also running around stealing cookies all night!  Everyone was laughing because whenever they saw him he had a new cookie in his hand.  I think he ate parts of 5 different Christmas cookies during the party. ha! He was on a sugar high!

There were also two little dogs at the party and, honestly, Maxwell was more scared of them than he was of Santa.  That surprised me.  He didn’t want those little puppies anywhere near him!  Guess he’s more like me than I thought!

A fun night!

Two Months!

December 19, 2012

Spencer turned two months old yesterday and I am official in love with this baby.  He’s happy, he’s smiley, he’s chubby, he’s perfect!  LOTS of pictures below…

Spencer at 2 months…

and Maxwell at 2 months…

Interesting how much darker Maxwell’s eyes were by this point.  Spencer’s are still really blue – maybe he’ll keep the blue eyes!  I definitely think Spencer is bigger than Maxwell was at this point but we’ll confirm at the doctor on Friday.

I don’t want to jinx anything but, so far, Spencer’s just been such an easy baby.  He cries when he’s hungry and rarely cries any other time.  If he does cry, I can always get him calmed down within a few minutes – usually by swaddling him up, giving him a paci and swaying him to sleep.  He’s sleeping great at night.  As of the past week or so, he’s been eating around 7:00 pm and then I’ll get him down “for the night” by around 8:30 or 9:00 and then he’ll wake up again around 2:00 and then not again until around 6:00.  I’ll take that!  He’s sleeping in his room but I’ve been putting him in his Rock N Play Sleeper instead of his crib and I think he’s sleeping better that way.  It’s more cozy and it keeps him inclined a little which is good.  When he does wake up to eat at night, he eats and then just goes right back to sleep all swaddled up!  A dream baby!  🙂

This picture makes me laugh with his little arm propped up…

During the day, he’ll go between 3 to sometimes even 6 hours between feedings.  He’s great at taking a bottle when necessary which is nice.

We’re getting some great smiles and lots of coo-ing and it just makes me melt.  He’s definitely getting his brother’s (and dad’s!) long, thick, dark eyelashes (yay!) and has the cutest little lopsided grin.

Posing with “Bear Bryant” – thanks for the name suggestion Granddad!  A good complement to “Little Al”!

I love this little guy with all my heart and am so glad he decided to join our family!

Happy 2 months Spencer, we love you!

More family!

December 18, 2012

On Saturday, after Robert’s family had all left and Brownfest was over, my mom and Susu stopped by on their way from Arkansas to Florida.  We were so glad to see them!

Susu got some quality time in with Mr. Spencer…

They had quite the conversation!  Spencer was just coo-ing up a storm with his great grandmother!

I love how he’s just looking and smiling at her!

I think Susu’s pretty smitten with my little guy!

GJ then had to take her turn squeezing on Spencer too!  LOVE this picture…

He has such strong little legs!  and he clearly likes GJ just as much as he likes Susu!

Sweet, sweet boy…

We all had fun playing with some new toys…

and then, before they had to leave, I snapped this picture…

New most favorite picture ever!  GJ and her babies!  Doesn’t get much better than that!!

See you again soon GJ and Susu!

Would love to hear from you! 4 Comments
