Home Stretch

December 8, 2014

Happy Monday!  We’re in the home stretch for the big move on Friday but still lots to be done at the old house like packing…and lots to be done at the new house like FIXING THE NEW HOLES IN THE CEILING.  Oh, yes.  Robert and I walked into the house on Saturday morning to find this…

leak

Yep. Water dripping down from the kitchen ceiling. Talk about feeling like you have the flu! We both felt sick to our stomachs. The plumber got out there right away and luckily, it wasn’t a major problem.  From my rudimentary understanding, a flange on one of the pipes in the bathroom above the kitchen split causing water to leak down through the ceiling.  The pipe is now fixed and the sheetrock and everything else will be fixed soon.  We might be moving in with some holes in our ceiling though…

But, we can handle that. Now we just REALLY need the floor guys to get their job done so everyone else can get their jobs done!  Tick Tock!

In other news, the boys and Susan have been busy cleaning all of their outside toys so we can pack them up.  check check!

We took Spencer back up to the doc on Friday for his ongoing congestion/snot battle and got some Amoxicillin which seems to be, finally, knocking everything out. I was so afraid he was getting the flu too but, so far, the boys and I have all stayed flu-free and Robert is feeling much better.

Friday night some friends threw a little baby shower dinner for me and my friend, Jessica.  It was fun and made me feel very special!

Jessica and I are due within a week of each other and I can’t wait for these babies to be friends!

Finally, the boys looked super cute for church on Sunday where Maxwell sang a few Christmas songs after the 5th grade pageant. Adorable. I tried to get a picture with them and…

yep, that’s about right. I did take some other pics of them before we left the house that I’ll share later.

See you all tomorrow!

Pity and iPhone

December 4, 2014

Let me go down the checklist of my life right now:

8 months pregnant – check

2 toddlers – check

Full time job – check

Renovating a house – check

Moving in 10 days – check

Not one box packed – check

Husband HAS THE FLU – check

Yes, I’ll take any and all pity you’d like to throw my way.  And prayers that no one else gets the flu would be appreciated as well!  🙂

Ok, pity party over.  In other news, my iPhone folder is busting at the seams! So many to share…

Long weekend happenings

December 3, 2014

After our great Thanksgiving, we thoroughly enjoyed having a few days off together with no plans!  Well, no plans other than check on the new house, go to Lowe’s (shocker), and start cleaning out our current house for packing.

Robert and I took the day off Wednesday and we were all up and going early. After a morning trip to Lowe’s, we decided to stop off at Bass Pro on the way home just because…

For the record, it’s actually a great place to go kill an hour on a cold day. There’s tons to see and they have a whole Winter Wonderland area with Christmas decorations, crafts, a carousel and Santa!  We were too early that day for Santa but we may be back!

The boys had a blast and I was shocked at how many people were already there at 9am in the morning!

We then had a great Turkey day but, the day after Thanksgiving, Spencer was sounding really congested, croupy, and wheezing so we made a trip up to the doctor to get him a steroid prescription and another albuterol mask.

I hate when my buddy is sick but he handled it all just fine…wind chapped cheeks and all!

The rest of the weekend was spent stopping by the new house…

and enjoying the pretty weather.

We even took time to make the new house look Christmas-y!  This makes me pretty darn happy!

Finally, on Sunday night we put on our Christmas shirts to go to the Advent Workshop at church.

The boy made some cute crafts and we all got into the Christmas spirit!

We’re in the home stretch now for our big move and it can’t come soon enough!
