Allowance toy

July 21, 2015

Maxwell has been working hard and saved up his allowance again! Last weekend he counted out all of his money and checked out various Lego sets with Robert on the iPad.

allowance

He really wanted to get the whole Lego City Fire Station but that one is $90! I told him that might be a good birthday present to ask for. He agreed and went with the Lego City Fire Emergency. Last time, he got to go to Toys R Us and pick out a toy, but the store didn’t have this Lego set so we ordered it off Amazon. Not only is he learning to save up for something, but he’s also learning about delayed gratification! It took that Lego set a whole TWO days to get to him. Β πŸ™‚ He was so excited when it came in!

Then he and Robert put it all together on Saturday. Robert really just supervised…Maxwell followed the directions and did it all himself!

lego

As soon as it was built, he went upstairs and put it in his drawer! ha! He REALLY didn’t want Spencer to get it and break it. Sweet boy. So proud of him!

lego

The other great thing about this is that it got the boys to pull out the other Lego Duplo sets we have and play with them all weekend. They built some impressive stuff!

Hannah!

July 20, 2015

On Friday of last week we had some very special visitors! Just like last year and the year before that, Hannah and her crew stopped through Birmingham on their way to the beach! Hooray! We always love seeing Hannah and it’s such a treat to see her kids too. I’m so happy she finally got to meet Samantha and I got to squeeze on cute Caroline! Β πŸ™‚

Caroline could not get enough of Baby Mantha…

Baby Mantha wasn’t quite so sure about all the people in her house though! ha!

caroline

Poor baby was worn out from all the stimulation by the time everyone left! They just stopped through, had some lunch, played in the playroom and then hit the road again. It obviously wasn’t long enough but I’m so glad I got to hug Hannah’s neck and see Ryan and the kids.

These babies are just growing too fast…

I’ve known Hannah over 20 years now and I still feel like we should be in high school cruising around town and staying out of trouble (always). But instead, here we are, “middle aged” and driving mini-vans (ahem, only one of us and not me :)!) and trying to keep up with all these kids…

hannah

Man, we’re lucky. Old friends really are the best friends. Love you, Hannah!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments

A little more Naples

July 17, 2015

When we weren’t at the beach or in the pool, we were playing with GJ, Daddo and the cousins!

naples

We were so glad that Jen was able to come over with Nate and Delaney so all the kiddos could hang out. Love these silly willies…

cousins

Trying to get a picture of all 5 of them together was comical. We had them all lined up but Spencer was not a happy camper. Check out Nate’s face looking at him! ha!

cousins

Poor Spencey just wanted Baby Mantha sitting next to him.

cousins

So, he decided to scream about it. Please look at Delaney’s face! ha!

naples

We then moved Samantha and everyone was happy…even if they were more interested in looking at the tv than my camera!

cousins

Then, miracle of miracles, we actually got a decent shot! Smiles all around!

cousins

Well, except for Samantha who kinda looks like a blob, but that’s ok. πŸ™‚

After a fun filled week it was sadly time to say goodbye to Daddo…

and to GJ…

No matter how long we stay, every visit is too short. We’re ready to go back!

Thanks for everything GJ and Daddo! We love you!

Would love to hear from you! 3 Comments
