Final soccer game

November 18, 2015

On Sunday, Maxwell had his final soccer game of the season. It was slightly chilly but a great day to be playing outside! Spencer warmed up with the team…

and then it was time for Mean Green to play! They hustled a lot…and goofed off a little! Β πŸ™‚

Spencer had to cheer from the sidelines…

but, don’t worry, he had a sucker (or 3!).

Baby Mantha once again enjoyed her view from the carrier!

The boys played a great game and Maxwell scored an awesome goal. After they shook hands with the other team…

soccer

it was time for trophies!! Woohoo! The boys were so excited! Nothing like a giant trophy for “participation”!

Sunday finest

November 17, 2015

The boys got dressed for church on Sunday and I just had to take their picture. I mean, they looked like little dressy lumberjacks in their checkered shirts and I couldn’t resist. They were clearly excited for more photos…

church

Maxwell is all big boy now in his cords and button downs. Trying to figure out what to dress Spencey in is a different story. He still does better in the little elastic waist pants but I can’t imagine him in a little matching peter pan collar shirt. So, we did a button down with the elastic waist pants. It’s maybe not the best but when you add his happy smile, I don’t think anyone’s looking at his pants! πŸ™‚

Besides, it lets me keep dressing them like twinkies which you know I love! Β πŸ™‚

Weekend roundup

November 16, 2015

Things around here this weekend…

Patty…

patty

cake!

Have I also mentioned she’s pulling up to standing on everything now! She’s pretty proud of herself!

stnading

Spencer went to a firetruck birthday party and had a blast!

The other thing we did? Attempt Christmas card photos…twice. I took no less than 650 pictures (for real) and maybe *maybe* have one that could possibly work. Trying to get 3 kids under the age of 5 to look the same way and smile happily is really, really difficult. But, we’ll get something that works eventually. My kids might throw my camera out the window in the meantime but…we’ll get something…I hope! Tis the season!! Β πŸ™‚

Happy Monday!

Iphone dump

November 13, 2015

Y’all, TGIF for real! I know it’s Friday the 13th but Thursday the 12th almost did us in! Yesterday was a doozy. I had to take Maxwell up to the doctor because he has strep AGAIN. He finished antibiotics for strep on Sunday then went to school on Monday and Tuesday where he somehow picked up strep for the second time. So, we’re going on another 10 days of pink bubblegum medicine! Then, yesterday afternoon, Spencer threw a book out of his bed and the corner smacked Maxwell on the forehead leaving a scrape and a huge bump – huge. It obviously hurt really bad and Maxwell was crying so hard he threw up all over my shirt…and the floor… and the toilet. Fun. We got him calmed down and he’s going to be fine. God bless Susan for cleaning up all the mess while I loved on Maxwell. I think we’re all glad Thursday is over and Friday is here!!

Enjoy the iPhone pics…

Mud Ball

November 12, 2015

On Sunday we had a soccer game despite the fact that it had been raining for about 2 weeks straight. There was a break in the rain for the game, but it was dreary and MUDDY! We were on one of the back fields and I think we might have had the muddiest field of all. We got there and Spence couldn’t wait to get out there and practice with Maxwell before the rest of the team arrived…

soccer

Within 3 minutes, he fell and got a little muddy…

soccer

Well, really muddy…

dorty

really really muddy! ha!

muddy

He didn’t care.

This kid is all boy!

soccer

It was a low turnout so Robert let Spencer “warm up” with the team for a bit and Spence was in hog-heaven! After he did a few things with the big kids, he ran back over to me saying “Momma! I did re-wee good!”

muddy soccer

Despite hating being dirty, Maxwell was a trooper and slipped and slid all over that field! At one point, Maxwell did a belly slide into the goal…he was the first to really eat it in the mud. He was tough for a minute but once Robert got over to him, he just couldn’t hold those tears in. After a break on the side line and little water he was good to go again. By that point, everyone was falling all over the place. It was honestly hilarious. The boys were covered in mud and surprisingly, none of them thought it was very cool or fun at all!

soccer

They played with a lot of heart and had a great game. Maxwell scored one goal with the ball…and one goal with his body! ha!

soccer

Meanwhile, I entertained Pig Pen on the side lines with not 1, not 2, but 3 suckers. I’m a sucker.

soccer

Baby Mantha enjoyed the game mud-free from the sling!

soccer

Everyone was pretty dirty at the end of the game but it was worth it!

soccer

Go Muddy Mean Green!
