We’re all slowly getting better around here! Good thing because Christmas is almost here….but we didn’t have Christmas weather this weekend! It was breezy and warm.

a lot like Christmas! We’ve been making it merry around here the past two weeks! I actually had all the inside decorations up right before we left for the mountains for Thanksgiving. I knew time was going to get short when we got back so I was happy to come home to a decorated house! We moved into this house December 15 of last year and didn’t really decorate so it’s been fun this year finding new places for everything. I did decorate our banister this year and love it!

and you know I LOVE having FIVE stockings to hang this year!

We got our tree the week after Thanksgiving. We were hoping to have a family outing to get it, but with rain coming and everyone busy, Maxwell and I just decided to stop off after school one day and pick one out. My helper chose the best one! Robert and I almost killed ourselves trying to get it in the stand and up in the house that night but, we got it in. (note to self – throw away that terrible 4 screw stand and stick with the cheapy one!)

We finally got it decorated and I think it’s the best one yet! 🙂

We also got some more wreaths for outside so there’s a wreath for every window!

We also have bows galore and a fancy mailbox all thanks to Susan!

I got the lighted garland up – and had a good helper for that too! 🙂

I just love Christmas and how full the house feels with joy and anticipation!

Ho Ho Ho!
Samantha and I have been hit with the dreaded “pink eye plus” virus. Wish us luck and a speedy recovery!
In the meantime, we’re just playing some reindeer games over here…

Ho Ho Ho!
Good news, Spencer woke up Monday feeling SO much better! I even got a few belly laughs at breakfast! Thank goodness!

Other than dealing with a sick Spence, we actually had a great weekend. We delivered some Christmas goodies to friends, cleaned out closets, and enjoyed the pretty weather. We also watched some football! Samantha kicked back and enjoyed the game…

and Robert enjoyed getting to watch with his little sidekick!

She was quite the cheerleader…

and gave the final score a thumbs up!

On Sunday afternoon while Spencer and Samantha slept, Maxwell and I walked over to the Christmas Parade in the village. It was fun and they threw out candy which Maxwell obviously loved. 🙂 The parade ends on a high note with Santa on the fire truck!

Well, Maxwell told me that it’s actually just one of his helpers and not the real Santa. I think he’s right!

I loved some one on one time with my buddy!

Make it a great day!
Sick, sick, sick. That’s the only way to describe Spencer this past week. We came home from the mountains last Sunday and Spencer was showing signs of pink eye. Yuck. Unfortunately, it was pink eye plus fever and congestion! I took him up to the doctor Tuesday morning thinking he might have strep. No strep and the doctor said it must just be a virus that had to run its course.

Well, it has run its course and it’s been brutal! His eye has been so incredibly swollen and red, he cannot breathe out of his nose, and I have never seen so much snot come out of one little boy’s head! He just kept saying all week “I not feel good.” Poor, poor buddy. By Thursday, he was still so bad, I took him back up to the doctor.

Even though he was really pitiful he was still in fairly good spirits and my happy little buddy!

They did give him an antibiotic this time to try and help with the eye infection and also gave us a prescription decongestant. I was hopeful that would clear it all up quickly but, no such luck. He continued to get way worse. Even after 2 days on the medicine, he still looked like this.

He obviously wasn’t sleeping well and Robert and I were getting up SEVERAL times each night to wipe his nose, etc. Finally on Sunday he seemed to start to turn the corner. His eye is still swollen but looking a little better and we only had to wipe his nose 130 times instead of 170! 🙂 I kid but it really does seem like it’s been that often! I’ve honestly never seen him so sick. I’m hoping he continues to get better and no one else gets this mess because we have too much fun Christmas stuff coming up to be sick!
Need a little palate cleanser after all that sick? Yea, me too. Here ya go…

I’m ready to start seeing smiles like that from Spence again!
