What? More backyard pictures! Oh yes! When I was taking Spencer’s “official” 4 year pictures, I snapped some of the other two as well.
I must say, we’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of this sand table!
I mentioned that Spencer was wanting to go “make a road” in the dirt…well, here he is making that road!
Pretty sure he’s blowing on the dirt through a straw here! ha!
Baby tried it with less than stellar results!

When I was posting Spencer’s birthday photos yesterday, I realized I still had some photos from when I took Maxwell’s birthday pictures that I never shared! I think these capture Spencer’s personality a little more accurately! 🙂

My sweet baby girl! These pictures were taken 2 months ago and it’s crazy how much longer her hair is now!

Spencer is FOUR!! My sweet, lovable, happy little guy is four years old.

and now FOUR!
This little boy is ALL BOY. He loves to wrestle with Maxwell, play in the dirt, roughhouse with his friends at school, and laugh…oh how he loves to laugh! And it’s possibly the greatest laugh ever heard. He can be the absolute sweetest when he snuggles up with me and asks for a bear hug and a tickle kiss at night. He can also be the most stubborn and frustrating little boy in the world who can throw some pretty epic tantrums. But, he’s getting better about that and he always comes around and says “I sorry.” His imagination is working overtime and I get to hear some funny and interesting stories he makes up from time to time. He’s a happy kid who plays hard, tries hard, and loves hard.
This picture makes me laugh. He was much more interested in going to “make a road” in the dirt than he was in taking pictures! 🙂
He’s got friends at school that he talks about – Sebastian, Stephen, Wade, and Christopher – but his favorite friend is (and I think will always be) Maxwell. They’ve gotten into Star Wars (or Star Burst as he calls it!) and Spencer loves Darth Vader. He also loves to Hulk Smash! He’s happiest when he’s playing and running around outside…or maybe when he’s on the iPad! ha! He and Samantha are like two peas in a pod (and look alike too!) and no one makes Baby laugh harder than Mr. Spencer! 🙂
I sure do love this little boy. I can still see the final traces of baby left in him and I’m trying to soak them up because I know they’ll go quickly. I can’t wait to see the awesome, fun kid he turns into this year.

Also, seeing this picture makes me realize I’ve never told the full story on our front lawn redo. I will get to it someday but, this right here is why we did it…
My three pumpkins playing in the front in the grass on a beautiful fall day. Nothing better!
We did some really fun stuff around here last week and, unfortunately, many of the photos I took drowned with my phone in the potty! I was able to recover everything except about 5 days of photos so, overall, I was very lucky! Plus, I was still able to get a few of the photos back because I had texted them to GJ so she could just text them back to me!
On Thursday Maxwell had picture day at school. I didn’t fight the clothes battle because clothes don’t matter when your hair is on point!

That night we also had the IPC Open House. I took so many cute photos of Samantha with Mrs. Laura and of Spencer with his classmates but…they’re gone. I did text this one to GJ though which I’m very happy about!
Later that night, Robert and I got dolled up and went to the Gala at the Garden – the annual black tie gala supporting the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. We had gotten the tickets for free so figured, why not?! It was actually really fun and I’m glad we went!
On Tuesday night of this week I had a little party inviting all of the MBE Kindergarten moms over. The house was looking party ready!
I was especially glad the kitchen is nice and big because everyone stayed crammed in there all night. Also, note to self, don’t worry about food next time because nobody ate a bite!
Samantha had her school pictures on Thursday and she looked adorable, as always.
Spencer’s school pictures are today – let’s just hope I can get him in something besides his Hulk shirt!
