Doughnuts with Dad

March 6, 2017

Happy Monday! Tonsillectomy recovery continues to go well. Maxwell is cruising through it with no complications and very little discomfort…thanks to the still round the clock pain meds we’re giving him! Hopefully the worst is behind us at this point.

In other news, Robert got to go up to school with Spencer on Friday for Doughnuts with Dad! I tried to get a pic of them before they left and, well…

Getting a picture of Spencer doing a “normal” smile is basically impossible so sometimes you just gotta go with the flow…

Spencer made Robert this awesome tie (I love the heart!)…

and this hilarious-ness…

ha! For the record, Robert is actually pretty good at laundry! I do agree with Spencer on one thing though, we both love him because “he’s so good!” Yes he is!  🙂

Other news

March 3, 2017

Tonsil update – Maxwell’s doing pretty good! We’ve been staying ahead of the game on the pain meds and he’s handling things well. There’s been plenty of ice cream, milkshakes, pudding, and jello – for all! Spencer and Samantha are surely enjoying Maxwell’s tonsillectomy! ha!

In other non-tonsil news, we had dinner with our neighbors on Sunday night and the kids had a blast…

I took this for dessert and it tasted as good as it looked!

We might have all come home from dinner and polished it off!  🙂

Maxwell had his first baseball practice with his team on Tuesday. I think it’s going to be a great season. He has two of his class buds on his team which makes it more fun!

and they’re out!

March 2, 2017

Maxwell made it through surgery yesterday. His tonsils are gone and so are his adenoids. The doc said his tonsils were average size but his adenoids were giant and blocking 90% of his airway! Whoa! He had a little issue waking up from the anesthesia and couldn’t breathe well. He started having stridor and they had to give him two breathing treatments. They got it under control and finally got him back out to us. It was a long wait for me and Robert and we were glad to finally get him back, even if he was pretty miserable! We made it home and he’s been resting and drinking whatever he wants – including a milkshake!

Before all the action yesterday!

Then Susan took the two littles to school and it was a bit windy! ha!

Robert and I took our brave patient up for surgery…

We were all glad to finally make it back home that afternoon. Don’t worry, he’s got plenty of good nurses taking care of him!

Hoping it’s a quick and easy recovery!

Monday Monday

February 27, 2017

Happy Monday! What a beautiful weekend we had. We had no plans and sure enjoyed it! Crazy when this is what you’re wearing in February…

Bare legs and short sleeves! The best! The only bad part about spring springing is the pollen and things blooming. It’s rough on Spence even after all these allergy shots. He’s dealing with an allergy induced cold (poor guy) so skipped school on Friday and he and Samantha took advantage of the nice weather and visited the animals at the zoo…

and then got to have a little treat!

On Saturday morning we headed out to the ball park so Maxwell could have his first baseball practice! Maxwell had fun – but I think Robert enjoyed it most of all! The boys then took a trip to Dick’s to get fully outfitted for the season…

Batter up! We’re all ready for spring ball!

Day off adventures

February 23, 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed the day off on Monday.

We went to the park…

then walked to lunch (after a stop back at home to change a certain 4 year old’s pants and shoes because he managed to fall into the creek and get wet up to his knees!)

and that night we went to see Wild Kratts Live at the Alabama Theater!
