You saw some of Maxwell’s art yesterday and today I’m going to show you some of Spencer’s art. Check out this dinosaur…
So good, right? It really is a good dinosaur, especially considering he did it on the curve of the arm of the chair! He then practiced writing some Ms and Xs on the rest of the chair…
He also did a nice job coloring in the animals on his sheets…
decorating his pillow…
and adding some flair to his headboard and dresser!
He did this all during nap with that multi-color ink pen up there. Isn’t he so creative?!
He’s so creative that we decided he’s not going to play with his iPad for several days so he can focus on his other artistic abilities…on paper only!!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, a piece of Maxwell’s art was chosen to hang in the local library for the month of March. A piece from each grade was selected and we were so excited that Maxwell’s drawing got to represent Kindergarten! They had a little reception for the kids on Tuesday night. Maxwell had to leave baseball practice early to go but I think he was glad he went…especially since they had cookies and punch!
I thought Maxwell’s pig was perfectly perfect!
They handed out certificates to all the artists which was neat.
Baby really wanted her own certificate! ha!
It was a nice time celebrating our little artist!

Spencer had his first soccer game on Sunday and it was fun! He’s pumped about soccer – I don’t forsee any tears this year! Of course, he’s also got the best coach around! 🙂
Maxwell’s baseball game was at the same time as Spencer’s soccer game so, as I mentioned, Susan and Barry nicely went to the baseball game so I could go watch Spence. In order to get everyone where they needed to be on time, we had to wake up from naps a little early. It killed me to wake up these two sleepyheads…
but they were up quickly and ready to go to the ball fields!
Spencer gets to be red this year which made him happy because Maxwell is red also.
He started warming up with Coach Dad…
and Samantha took her spectator seat! (entertaining her during games is always “fun”)
Spencer really played great. He hustled, he went after the ball, and he even SCORED A GOAL!! Woohoo!
I think he might be giving his “mean face” to the other team here! ha!

It was a great game and the red team (officially named the Firebombs!) definitely won! He’s got some really good little players on his team.
By the end of the game though I could tell something was off. He just didn’t look like he felt well (you can see it in his eyes in that last picture). By the time we got home he was pretty miserable with fever. Poor buddy. He ended up staying home from school the next day and is still fighting off a mean cough. We don’t want our little soccer star to be sick!
