Kindergarten ready!

Spencer came home from school two weeks ago and found his globe on his mailbox…

that means kindergarten is not that far away! We had orientation on Tuesday and while Spencer might have been the teeny, tiniest bit nervous, he was way more excited and curious than anything.

He had a great time in the classroom, saw some familiar faces, and got a cookie and a book at the end! Can’t beat that! I’ll also say, being a second time kindergarten mom is way better than being a first time kindergarten mom! All of the info they gave us was old hat and that sure was nice.

I may not be ready for him to head to kindergarten but he’s already running out the door. Watch out MBE, here comes Spencey!!

Hey Batter Batter!

Another weekend, another round of ball games! The best part was having GJ in town for them! She’s the best baseball cheerleader around! Maxwell played in the mid-season tournament on Friday night. While his team lost, Maxwell played so well and I was incredibly proud of him! He went 3 for 3 on batting, scored 2 runs, and even caught a pop fly!! woohoo! The Pirates may not be at the top of the league but they are all learning so much about baseball and sportsmanship and are having the most fun!

Saturday morning Spencer had a t-ball game and did great too! He had good hits and ran the bases like a pro!

We even played some baseball at home! It was a beautiful weekend until the storms came Saturday afternoon.

We sure do love having GJ and Daddo in town and can’t wait until they come back to see us again!

Happy Friday….the 13th! eek!

Lots of baseball last week in the unexpected FREEZING temps! Didn’t stop my ball players though! Spencer had fun at T-ball Saturday morning despite the cold…

and had some great hits!

That afternoon we headed out to the other ball field for Maxwell’s games. He had some good hits (yay!) and finally got to score his first run!!! Woohoo!

We were back at the ball field on Sunday for another game. We were playing the only team that is undefeated in the league and, it wasn’t looking so great the first half of the game! Maxwell had a good hit and then on his 2nd (or 3rd I can’t remember) time up to bat, that kid HIT A HOME RUN!!! He just put it all together, knocked that ball between first and second, batted in two other runs and make it all the way around the plates himself!! It was AWESOME! He was excited, I was excited, Robert was excited…just the best. The team made quite a comeback and was so close to beating that #1 team. They didn’t quite pull it off but I’m not sure they even cared because they all played their hearts out.

After the game, Maxwell even got the game ball…

I think the only person more proud of Maxwell than me was Maxwell himself!  🙂

He’s worked so hard and to see it all pay off was wonderful! There were actually 3 of them that hit home runs that game – Maxwell, Wyatt and Trent!
