Naples

After our Tampa adventures, the kids and I said goodbye to Robert who headed back to Birmingham and then we headed off to Naples with GJ and Daddo! Hooray! As always, we love being down there and spent plenty of time swimming, beaching, and doing a bunch of nothing! Spring break perfection!

It’s so nice the the kids are of the age now where they can play happily on their own. They dig and throw the football and play in the water and just love it all!

Legoland

After a fun day of baseball we drove over to spend the night at Legoland!

We’ve been once before but we had much better weather this trip! The kids loved the hotel…

and then we went out for a good dinner. It was in this spot where I’m pretty sure some chiggers got in my pants and bit me approximately 43 times all over the back of my legs and my bottom. Made for a fun rest of the trip!

It was fun but I think we can now really officially say that we don’t need to go back to Legoland again!

We’re back from a really great and much needed week of Spring Break! We started off the adventure with a weekend in Tampa. My troops are the best little flyers now…

We got to Tampa Friday night and had a nice dinner out…

and then had a full morning to kill on Saturday. We spent it at the mall! We definitely made our presence known in Nordstrom! ha!

It was then time to head out to the ballgame! We went to a Yankees spring training game and it was awesome and the most perfect weather!

Robert was also smart and got us seats in the shade! Hooray!

The Yankees were playing the Toronto Blue Jays and while they didn’t pull out a win, it was still fun to see some of their major players hit!

After all that sun and fun, this crew was tired. We piled into the car and headed on to our next adventure!

Backyard project

Last summer we ended up getting some new neighbors – GJ and Daddo! The house directly behind us went on the market and, even though they weren’t planning on buying a house here, the situation was too perfect to resist! With them right next door, it made sense to finally do something to our backyard so we could connect the two houses and clean up all the unusable parts of our yard. Here are the befores:

See that pole up there? Yea, that pole delayed our project by several weeks because we could NOT get the comcast people out to remove it. It was the most frustrating part of the entire process.

There was a lot of dirt around for a long time and, yes, this is when we had our awesome mud party!

and the afters! We gutted out an entire area of yard that was nothing but poison ivy and sticks and put in an awesome parking pad. Now we’ll have plenty of space for 16 year old drivers to park their car someday! 🙂 We also took out the beds and put down more sod, got rid of the falling down fence, and put up an entrance between our yard and GJ and Daddo’s new house! We have a gate that we will hang there eventually, but it’s nice for the kids right now to just have it open.
