One of the kid’s favorite things from last year in Highlands was ice skating so we had to do it again! Robert sat out this year due to a bum foot but I took to the ice with my 3 skaters and they did great. It was much warmer than it was last year so much more pleasant!

After skating we had to make a stop to see the big man himself! Spencer asked for a journal, Samantha asked for LOLs and Poopsie Slime Surprise dolls, and Maxwell said he wasn’t sure yet. ha! He better think of something quick!

Love these traditions in the mountains!
On Wednesday before Thanksgiving we made the drive up to Highlands, NC for another fantastic Thanksgiving in the mountains! The weather was chilly and windy but not too terribly cold and not raining so we made the most of it!

On Thanksgiving morning we got up and hiked our favorite – Whiteside! We were out there by about 9:30 so we could get a parking place at the base of the mountain and sure were happy to get a good hike in and enjoy the beautiful views!

The view from the top!

Framer!

The perfect way to start Thanksgiving day!!
So, so thankful for this crew.

Taking a bit of a break to appreciate it all. Be back soon!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Some fun things going on at school for the boys…
Spencer was Astronaut of the week! He did a great job on his poster…

and I got to come read some of our favorite books to the class!

Spencer also got to be King last week!

Maxwell made a turkey of someone he was thankful for and did it of his buddy, Jack…

Love it! I’m thankful for Jack too. π
Maxwell also had a poetry reading up at school where he and his class all read poems they had written. Maxwell’s was about Highland and was terrific!

School days are the best days!
