Quarantine is a little more fun when you get to make treats, right? So, why not make some s’mores in the oven?! The kids LOVED them!

Quarantine isn’t so bad!!

Day one of school complete! It was…ok. I know it will get easier. There was a big learning curve to get it started and as soon as we get used to all of the different links, sign-ins, and programs, we’ll be able to get through it all a lot faster. I should also add, I’m SO SO SO glad I quit my job in August. I simply do not know how I would be doing all of this if I was still working. We definitely wouldn’t be getting to have as much fun as we’ve been having!
The boys’ summer camp has been posting some fun at home challenges to keep everyone busy during the quarantine. One thing they suggested was to make some camp food! They gave the receipt for Longenecker Lumps which are basically biscuit dough balls covered in cinnamon sugar. Yum! We gave it a try!

Our first batch was a disaster because our oil was way too hot! The balls were burned on the outside and raw on the inside and our plastic spoon was melted! Oops!! We tried a second batch and they came out perfect!

We all learned something new that day! Really really hoping both of these boys get to go to camp this summer!!
Look who decided it was finally time to learn to ride his bike!! Woohoo! Go Spencer!

We bought him a good bike a few months ago but he’s never been interested in learning to ride. Well, he changed his mind and after a few runs with Robert in the driveway…

He was riding on his own the next day in the parking lot!

He’s so proud of himself, as he should be. He was riding around me in circles and said, “I just feel so free!” Love it! It’s a whole new world in the neighborhood for this kid now!!

Go Spencey Go!
Online school starts today! Wish us luck!!
Last Saturday when Robert could go with us, we took a drive out to Steele, AL to check out Horse Pens 40. It was an interesting place but it had some of the coolest climbing rocks I’ve ever seen. There were a few groups of people out there doing real rock climbing. My kids had plenty of fun doing their own version of rock climbing!

This kid couldn’t get enough and it definitely made me remember how much he loved the rocks in Central Park!

There was only a small trail out there but it did have a nice view…

We had lunch on a big rock, enjoyed the pretty weather, and were glad to all be together!

I sure do love getting to go on adventures with my people!

Have a great weekend!
One day last week when the sun was shining we took advantage of the beautiful day to check out Vulcan! There is a trail at the bottom of it that turned out to be a nice walk of about 2 miles or so. The kids had fun and got to pose like Vulcan and we all enjoyed the fresh air and views!

We’re very focused and serious trail hikers!

Vulcan!

The stairs and elevator were closed or else we would have gone to the top. Next time!

They loved getting to run out all of their energy!

I sure do love adventuring with this trio!

On to the next adventure!
