Hawaii day 4

April 6, 2026

Another day – another breakfast buffet! A particularly carb heavy morning for Spencer…

After all that eating and boating and golfing, we felt like we deserved a little relaxation and were thankful to get it poolside!

We then went on a little drive to have lunch at Mama’s Fish House. I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was way neater than I thought it was going to be! The food was delicious and I’m so glad we went.

The beach by the restaurant had several enormous turtles on it. We were checking them out and someone politely informed us we were to stay 10 feet away from the turtles…oops!

We got back to the resort and enjoyed sunset on the beach! Absolutely cannot beat that golden hour!

That night we just grabbed a pizza from Ferraro’s and took it easy. Best day.

The kids are living the life!

Hawaii Day 4

April 3, 2026

Boat day!! But first, a walk…

Doesn’t get better than that…but a day on a boat is a close second! We were supposed to go to an area great for snorkeling but it was too windy so we switched it up and looked for whales instead.

It was a great boat with a really nice first mate and captain – who Robert discovered graduated from Hampden Sydney as well! Robert then spent a large portion of the boat ride chatting it up with him about the good ole days! ha!

Living the life!

We even spotted some whales! It was hard to get photos but I did get a great video of a mom and baby whale that came up right next to the boat! So cool!

They also provided lunch on the boat…

The best boat day! We then headed back to the resort and hit up the pool…

At sunset we met Scott for some family photos.

That night we had my favorite dinner of the trip at Ferraro’s at the resort. Best calamari ever…and of course POG juice and mai-tais!!

Hawaii is the best.

Hawaii Day 3

April 2, 2026

Day 3 started for me with the very best 3 mile walk on the trail that went along the coastline. Oh if I could do that walk every day I would be a happy girl!

After breakfast, the boys headed out for golf…

while the girls enjoyed the pool…

and some ice cream!

That night we put on our Hawaiian best…

and headed over to the Andaz resort for a luau!

It was really neat….and really, really windy and cold!

More pog juice please!

Robert caught the eye of the mistress of ceremonies! ha!

We all enjoyed the hula dancers and entertainment…

Hawaii day 2

Monday started with some more rain but another great breakfast buffet! That morning a few of us decided to go to the lei making class…

We then hit up the pool despite the clouds…

That night we hit up the beach for the late afternoon golden hour….

and ended up getting room service. We were tired!

Wowee Maui!! what a trip! I have so many photos to share so might as well get started… A trip to Hawaii list has been on my list for a long time and I was so happy we were finally making it happen! We had a fantastic itinerary – fly into Honolulu to stay 3 days at the Ritz Carlton Turtle Bay with surfing, golf, sun and fun. Then we were to fly to Maui for 4 more days of heaven at the Four Seasons with a boat ride and more surfing and golf. Then an enormous Kona storm hit Hawaii with more rain than the islands have seen in decades. Not good. We were venturing on though…and then we got a call Friday night as we were driving to Atlanta that the road to our hotel in Ohahu was flooded with no access to the property. They were putting all guests up in the Sheraton nearby. No thank you. I quickly got on Delta and saw that there was a flight to Maui that also left on Saturday a few hours after our booked Honolulu flight. Our travel agent called the Four Seasons and got us rooms for the first half of the week and we changed our whole trip! Disappointing? A little. But I honestly think it worked out for the best and maybe ended up being an even better trip because of the change!

We spent the night in the airport hotel and then because our flight was later in the day, we didn’t have to get to the airport at the crack of dawn to catch our flight and deal with the hours long TSA lines. We still arrived plenty early but had no issues getting through security in the international terminal. The trip was also looking up that morning when I got a notice that all 6 of us had been upgraded to Delta One! Woohoo! That also meant we could spend those hours in the airport hanging out in the Delta Sky Lounge. Not too shabby! I didn’t tell the kids we got upgraded until we got on the plane and they were pretty excited…as was I!

Samantha even took a little trip to the cockpit!

About 10 hours later we arrived at the Four Seasons!

We got some food in the lobby restaurant but we were all pretty tired. I was also a little cranky when I got to our room and saw this as our “mountain view”. Hmmm…not what I was expecting.

I politely asked the desk if there were any other rooms available and they worked their magic and promised to move us both into much better rooms the next day! hooray! Sunday started off pretty great when Robert and Maxwell went to the gym at 6am (thanks jetlag) and found Jason Kelce working out in there too! Whoa! He and his whole family were at the resort all week. Maxwell even got up the nerve to ask for a pic!
