We had a FULL and FUN weekend of baseball last weekend! It started on Friday night with the first round of the mid-season tournament for Maxwell’s team. They played better than I’ve ever seen them play and dominated the other team. Woohoo!
That took us to the semi-final game on Saturday at 12:00. The rain cleared up just in time for a beautiful day at the ballpark! Maxwell was pumped up and ready to go with his eye black!
It was a tough game but these boys pulled out a huge win!! So so exciting! Maxwell made some fantastic plays at first, caught a pop fly, and hit like a pro. Woohoo! That meant they were going to the championship game at 3:00! Maxwell ate some chicken fingers and an Icee like every good baseball player does between games while watching the other semi-final game. It was a good one too because the only undefeated team in the league, the White Sox, got defeated by the Braves! The rest of us got to watch Spencer’s 2:00 game. I told you it was a day full of baseball!
Spencer played awesome. He hustles and nails that ball! He also got to play catcher this game and took his job very seriously!
Goooo Red Sox!
At 3:00 the chicken fingers had settled and Maxwell and the Orioles were ready to play for the championship against the Braves! Despite the other team hitting 2 over the fence home runs, the Orioles held on to win it at the bottom of the 6th with a score of 15-16! So so exciting! This team is such a good group of boys and they have worked so hard for this.
Goooo Orioles!
Still a lot of baseball left to play this year but this sure was a fun win!
