I’ve been told by the proud Mama that he is perfect! Yay!
Capturing our adventures one photo at a time...
This is Maxwell’s Aunt Jen updating for Steph. BBB2 is on his way. Steph and Robert are up at the hospital and family is on the way!
AT&T is still having issues so we’ll try to update for them when they have news to share.
Our favorite family of three is about to be a family of four!
First, let’s discuss tech issues. If you have AT&T, it’s likely you haven’t been able to see the blog for the past two days. I haven’t. After much back and forth, I finally found out that it’s a much larger AT&T issue which was a huge relief because I was afraid it was just an issue with my connection at the beginning. I have to once again sing the praises of GoDaddy. Their tech support is always so helpful and friendly. Hopefully AT&T has been working overtime to get the issue resolved and you can all see the site. Let’s just say I’ve learned a lot in the past 24 hours about servers, traceroutes and error messages!
Second, BBB2 update. And the update is that there really is no update. I went back to the doctor on Tuesday and everything looks good – just a waiting game at this point. Due date is Sunday so we’ll see!
Third, did you know Maxwell is royalty? Yep, he’s the king of our house! (at least in his mind!) Need proof? Here he is in his kingly accessories…
Wonder how he’s going to feel when a new prince comes to live at the house soon?! We’ll see but, until then, here he is acting all kingly at the park….
He stakes his claim on the bridge…
and declares himself the King of the Tot Lot!
He’s a smiley king…
and is proud to show off his ability to slide down the little…
and big slides!
whoa!
It’s nice to be King! and, let ME just say, it’s nice to be Queen! 🙂
There’s been a little “scandal” up at Maxwell’s school! Well, scandal is perhaps a slight exaggeration but Maxwell’s teacher, Ms. Juli, is no longer his teacher! She turned in her resignation as of last week and so now Ms. Jen (who is also fantastic!) is his regular teacher. Hmmmm…wonder what in the world happened because it didn’t seem like it was her choice??? I need to see what gossip I can dig up!
In other school related news, they took Maxwell’s school pictures early this year. As a reminder, here was Maxwell last year in his school photo:
And here’s his picture this year – 2012
Ummm…definitely not the cutest picture of him! I totally should have dressed him in a color other than white and we clearly should have gotten him in for a haircut before the photo! Oh well, it’s not like I’m going to order any of them. I think this kid is photographed enough at home!
Let’s end this post on a cuter picture of my little dude, shall we?
Still not the best hair day but much better! 🙂
See you tomorrow!
I took Maxwell to his first dentist appointment last week. I really had no idea how it was going to go, especially considering he doesn’t even really like for us to brush his teeth! In preparation, I bought a Dora book about visiting the dentist as well as this cute book about animals brushing their teeth. We read both of them a LOT in the two weeks before our visit and I do think they helped, especially the Dora one.
Maxwell was a kind of cranky and needy that morning and our appointment was at 8:00am so I was a little nervous to say the least. But, he did GREAT! He had fun playing in the waiting room for a few minutes…
and sitting in the green car to watch Toy Story.
When it was our turn to go back, the first thing they do for new patients is let them put their handprint on a ceiling tile. Almost the entire ceiling is covered in colorful handprints. So fun and Maxwell loved it! He then chose the red chair (which were more like benches) to sit in. He wasn’t quite ready to do that by himself so I climbed up and held him on my lap. The hygienist could not have been sweeter and was clearly used to working with little dudes like Maxwell. She let him touch everything and explore it all before going anywhere near his mouth. When it was time to clean his teeth, I was so surprised at how cooperative he was! Go Maxwell!
Here you can see a bunch of the handprints…Maxwell made an orange one!
He was such a trooper and I was so proud of him!
After his teeth were all cleaned, the dentist came over and said that everything looked great. He said we should be using flouride toothpaste (we already were) and brushing 2x a day (we’ve only been doing it once but changing that!). He also said we should try to start flossing…um, sure. 🙂 He did give us some of those plastic things with the floss on them that should make it easier but we’ll see. We still haven’t tried it at home yet! He said all of Maxwell’s teeth are coming in just as they should and that he’d see us again in 6 months! Thanks for a good report Dr. Johnson!
After the good report, Maxwell got to pick a little toy and we came home with a green bouncy ball that he keeps trying to bite. That can’t be good for his teeth! Ironic, huh?!
Yay for good dentist reports!
and p.s. – on a totally unrelated note, here’s a short video for you. Maxwell was playing with this app on my ipad and the lady says, “oh no piggy!” and Maxwell kept repeating it as “oh no pee-pee!” and it’s just too cute for words. It makes me laugh and I love hearing his sweet little toddler voice.
I’ve probably watched it 100 times. If you can’t see the video, click here.
