We made it! The LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!! Maxwell had his final full day last week week and has his final exam today. Spencer and Samantha finish today at 2:00. We did it! Even better? All three kids brought home straight As all year long! Woohoo!
Lots of fun end of year things going on at school the past two weeks…
Samantha completed her animal project on the arctic hare!
We got to go up to school to see all of the animals in their habitats.
Spencer completed his country project and we got to go up and learn all about Boblox! He did an excellent job – so creative!
Last week we got to go to the Junior High for Honors Night. Maxwell was recognized for achieving above the 85% on the National Spanish exam, he earned all A Honor Roll, and he received the Outstanding 7th Grade Spanish student!! Wow wow wow!
With his Spanish teacher, Mrs. Centeno…
It was a great night to see him recognized for all of his hard work at the Junior High.
Super proud of all three of my smarties! Bring on summer!!
Yesterday was a revised version of MBE Field Day! No more class costumes, no more winners – just a fun day with activities both indoors and outdoors and dressed in their house colors. One thing we didn’t change was donuts in our yard before school! Samantha’s class came to our yard and the entire 5th grade went to GJ’s yard.
Love these cute girls!
Maxwell made an appearance before heading to his Spanish exam!
5th grade boys didn’t have quite as much flair as the 3rd grade girls!
I went over before lunch to watch Samantha’s grade in the relays and it was cute…and really hot!
I went back that afternoon in time for 3rd grade tug of war at 1:10 like the schedule said but whenI got there (early!) they were already doing it and I missed it. I’m so sad.
This was Samantha’s telling me I missed it. She was sad too. Her class won tug of war – the only thing they were allowed to have any kind of winner in. Hooray!
I did get get this cute picture though!
I then got to see 5th grade do their relays…and a certain MBE alum tagged along and got dragged into participating!
Overall it was a fun field day I think. Not as over the top as previous years but maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe, maybe not. One more day of school!!
Last week I got the “opportunity” to go on the 3rd grade all day field trip to the Cook Museum in Decatur, AL. It ended up being a great day and the museum is really neat and well laid out. Plus I got to spend the day with these cute girls!
Our first stop was to dissect an owl pellet. Some thought this was cool, others – like Samantha – thought this was pretty eeewwww! haha!
We then got to explore all of the different habitats with all kinds of cool animal facts and interesting things to look at.
It was a fun day all around! Make it a great weekend!
Last week Spencer went to Camp Alpine with the 5th grade. They were gone Monday through Friday and got to do all sorts of fun outdoor activities that tied into what they’ve been studying. From what I heard from all the chaperones, it was just a fantastic week all around. Everyone got along, there was very little drama, no trouble, and plenty of fun. Spencer agreed – he had a great time and even said the food wasn’t as bad as he thought it was going to be! ha! I’ll call that a win.
Off they went early Monday morning…
Lots of pics from the week that I got after they returned…
A scene from their basketball skit in the talent show!
The day in the water looked awesome!
and so did the ropes course!
Spencer’s cabin…
I didn’t get much communication from anyone during the week – just 1 or 2 pictures. The day before they came home, I did get a text from my friend that was there and she said that she was talking to a group about what they were most looking forward to when they got home – Spencer said clipping his toe nails! hahahahaha! Guess we should have cut them before he left!
A great week all around for this awesome kid. I sure do love him and am so happy he’s thriving at school and beyond. He’s a good, good kid and I’m so proud of him.
