Friday Favorite

Hi lovely readers!  It’s FRIDAY!  woohoo!  We’ve had an adventure of a week around here.  I’ve been potty training Maxwell.  I’ll spare the details but we’ve had ups, downs and lots of Teddy Grahams!  :)  He’s doing great.  Let’s hope he does great at school next week too!

We’ve obviously been homebound this week so have been enjoying some fun toys – particularly these Bristle Blocks that the boys got for Christmas from Jenny, Ronnie, Katie and Anna.

They’re a blast from the past for me and Maxwell loves them.  We’ve built a train, several airplanes and even a swimming pool – at least that’s what Maxwell thought it looked like!

I love that they come in a big bucket for easy clean up and storage!  :)

Thanks for the fun gift Jenny, Ronnie, Katie and Anna!  It’s a winner!

Hope you all have a great weekend.  We have fun little reward for our potty user – the circus!!  See you all Monday!

ZZ the Zebra

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you no doubt know about Maxwell’s beloved NeNe –  his monkey pacimal that is now his best lovie.  Second only to NeNe is NaNo, his cow pacimal.  I originally talked about them here as a Friday Favorite.  NeNe was originally named Nanner and NaNo was Mr. Moo.  But, Maxwell renamed them once he could (sort of) talk and the rest is history.

*You can read more about my love for Pacimals and how I think it helped us easily get rid of the paci here.

Since Maxwell loved them so much, I got two more Pacimals for Spencer – a dog and a zebra.  I pulled them out yesterday and Maxwell definitely thought we should see if Spencer would like them.

At first Maxwell thought the puppy was the one to go with…

But he ultimately decided that the zebra was the better choice.

I asked Maxwell what we should name the zebra and he said “ZZ”…pretty original, huh?  and not surprising considering he named his monkey “NeNe!”

Spencer isn’t quite so sure about ZZ yet but I have no doubt the love will grow!

One other funny picture- it’s been pretty cold here so I tried on this little coat I got for Spencer. Clearly way too big but look how funny he is all bundled up!  like a little eskimo!

Given the look on his face, I’m not sure Spencer is finding the humor in it!  :)

See you tomorrow!  TGIalmostF!

Friday Favorite

Today’s Friday Favorite are Maxwell’s new Native shoes.  Kind of like Crocs but way cooler.  I think they’re precious and Maxwell seems to be a fan!

Check them out here – Native Shoes.

Happy Friday everyone!

Friday Favorite

Today’s Friday Favorite is one of Maxwell’s gifts from his first birthday – his lawnmower!  Or his “nanower” as he calls it!  As you’ve seen in numerous photos, he pushes this thing all over the house, all over the patio, all over the yard, everywhere he goes.  It’s not quiet…but it sure is fun!

Little Tikes Gas n’ Go Mower

Our gas can is somewhere in the bottom of his toy chest but he loves to pull on the “starter” string and crank the key.  This was definitely a good purchase!

Up next?  iPhone dump!

and just a few more iPhone pics of me and my best bud.

We’re looking forward to a fun weekend around here including Maxwell’s first swim lesson!  whoa!  full update next week!  :)  Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorite

Every night before he goes to bed Maxwell wants to read 3 books:

The Wheels on the Bus – a former Friday Favorite.  Maxwell can do all the hand motions and it’s precious.

Trucks – a former Friday Favorite.  Maxwell can point out every single truck in this book by name.  This book is so loved it’s now being held together by duck tape.

Construction Sites – today’s Friday Favorite!

He LOVES this book.  It’s a “lift the flap” book and he knows what’s hiding under all the flaps.  He can also point out just about anything on the pages that we ask him – ladders, wheelbarrows, crains, excavators, cement mixers – this boy knows his construction stuff!  Of course, it doesn’t hurt that we’ve looked at this book approximately 2652 times.  If you know a truck loving boy, I highly recommend this book and any of the other ones in the series!

I don’t know about you all, but am really needing this 3 day weekend coming up!  We have no plans and I couldn’t be more excited.  We’re going to do a little of this…

and a little of that…

Sounds great to me!

As a little holiday treat, Maxwell wants to leave you all with this as you head out to your weekend…
