to the very best GJ ever!
Today is her birthday!! We sure do love you GJ and are wishing you the very best birthday!! And happy birthday on Thursday to that well dressed little boy, Johnny! Lots to celebrate!
We celebrated Maxwell last week and I think he had a great day!
His traditional birthday breakfast…
then off to school! It was a long day as usual with school followed by football. He didn’t get home until 6:15 but then we all made it up to a nice dinner at Bricktop’s where Maxwell had the lobster! yes sir!
Then it was time for cake and presents…
We got him some new golf clubs because he needed them…but I can’t say he was too excited about them. Don’t worry though – we had another surprise!
He, Robert, and Spencer are going to see Minkah Fitzpatrick with the Steelers play in October!! They’re all pretty pumped.
Happy birthday to the best 13 year old I know!
We officially have a TEENAGER! Maxwell is 13 and I’m just so glad I get to be a part of it all!
Just born…
One year old…
Two years old…
Three years old…
Four years old…
Five years old…
Six years old…
Seven years old…
Eight years old…
Nine years old…
Ten years old…
11 years old…
12 years old…
and now TEENAGER!
Maxwell has grown up exponentially in the past year. He started the Junior High and I feel like it’s all going at lightning speed. He’s still my same awesome, kind, aware, responsible, polite, trustworthy and all around great kid – he’s just becoming a more grown up version every single day. He ran right into that Junior High and never looked back – he’s got tons of friends, old and new, and even has a girlfriend! His social life is thriving these days!! ha! He’s playing football and loving those hot, sweaty practices. He’s excelling in his classes, even all of the advanced ones. He’s ranked up to First Class in scouts. This kid has his stuff together – he’s organized and on top of it and I rarely worry about him getting it all done. He just figures it out and figures it out well.
He and his friends still love to go into the village and get dinner and hang out at the field. He has a really good group of buddies and has expanded his circle with football friends and new kids from the junior high. They’re still kids but also so big at the same time. As his English teacher said at open house, 7th grade is a great year to fly and fall. The stakes are low if they fail and there are lessons to be learned all around. I can’t say it’s easy on me but I’m letting him fly and pretty sure he’s not going to fall too hard. I’m so proud of him and just love him so much.

Happy birthday Maxwell. We love you so much!
As I mentioned, Samantha turned 8.5 last week and we had a properly celebrated at dinner at her favorite place, Bricktops!
No birthday celebration is complete without dessert and a candle!
I think everyone should get to make a wish on their half birthday too!
ps: Maxwell’s no longer a cheap date…
lobster tails for the growing boy and he ate every bite!
For Samantha’s birthday, she invited a few friends to go roller skating and out to dinner! Originally Robert was going to drive one car and I was going to drive another. But, Maxwell ended having a campout that night and Robert ended up having to go on the campout soooo….
Yep, I rented a passenger van and it was the best decision!! The birthday bus made it all so much more fun.
Of course, I couldn’t have done it without my co-captain!! GJ flew in for the win!
We had a gaggle of girls…
and two cute boys tagging along.
Our first stop was the skating rink! Most of the girls are pretty good skaters!
Foot races!
The boys did their best at skating,Β but spent most of their time here!
The girls spent plenty of time wasting quarters too! π
After skating it was back in the van for a VERY loud dance party! Nothing like playing DJ while driving the birthday bus!!
And then to Mountain Brook Club for dinner!
Cheers!
Make a wish!
It was the perfect celebration for my perfect 8 year old!!
Happy Birthday Samantha! I’d drive a passenger van for you any day! Β π
